Indigenous Youth Advisory Circle
Finance Engage Sustain (FES) and its flagship program, The Youth Harbour, are seeking 5-7 passionate and engaged Indigenous youth for positions on FES' Indigenous Youth Advisory Circle (IYAC). Each role will receive an honorarium of $650 CAD upon completion of their term, with one term defined as 6 months. IYAC members can expect to attend approximately 6 online meetings per term.
The IYAC will play a vital role in shaping the development of FES' new Indigenous Youth Fund — an initiative designed to strengthen Indigenous youth leadership in climate and environmental action. While members may also contribute to the program’s fundraising strategy, their primary focus will be offering invaluable insight and perspectives to ensure the Fund meets the needs of Indigenous youth.
The IYAC will be supported by and work closely with an FES staff lead, who will act as a liaison and assist with IYAC workplan development and administrative tasks.
FES is seeking candidates with grassroots experience in community organizing and/or mobilization. Previous experience serving on boards or advisory circles is considered an asset but is not required. Priority will be given to candidates who can help FES identify gaps in Indigenous youth funding and broaden its understanding based on their own experiences and community engagement.
Upon submission of this application you can expect an email from a staff member at FES with one of the following steps:
Candidates who are selected will be notified to schedule an online interview, if they feel they need to get to know you better before accepting your application
Candidates who are not selected will be notified
Note: Those on the IYAC are eligible to apply for funding to all granting streams at The Youth Harbour during their term and beyond. Conflict of interest policies and practices will be in place where needed.
